Cascade- Curved Braid

Cascade- Curved Braid

The Cascade quilt has been one of the most popular from Victoria Findlay Wolfe's new book, Modern Quilt Magic. This class will focus on the curved braid pattern layout, design, and techniques to make curved piecing a breeze. Construction technique is based on slight curved piecing and understanding bias. The use of a design wall will be imperative to lay out this quilt. Cascade looks amazing in a mixture of scrappy fabrics with or without the dark to light gradation. Use solids, prints and lights to make a dazzling quilt with interwoven movement and simple, graphic style... or just go Scrap-crazy and use all those great prints in your stash!

We will focus on proper cutting of this unique template and entertain several different design possibilities.  This pattern is full of surprises and options.  We will sew the curved pieces together so you become comfortable with the process. Class participants will enjoy seeing the various designs develop.  Your quilt will be a one of a kind masterpiece.
