Back Porch Retreat

On Site Retreat HouseEnjoy a comfortable home that sleeps eight (and quilts eight). The garage has been converted to a beautiful sewing room with eight sewing stations consisting of lights, power cords, cutting boards and ironing boards. A quilter's refuge. The house consists of four bedrooms with eight comfortable twin beds covered with quilts quilted by Threads Run Thru It. The  house is stocked with fresh linens, paper towels, paper napkins and toilet paper.  Bring your groceries or pick them up at the local Food Lion only 10 min away. Gather around the dining room table or the kitchen table to make memories of time spent with quilting friends. The view from the deck is enjoyable as it overlooks the pond that separates the retreat house from the Threads Run Thru It Mid Atlantic Gammill Training Center.  Enjoy a weekend or stay a week or more. The ladies who have stayed once look forward to their next stay. A nonrefundable deposit of $50 is required upon making reservations. We also require 4 or more guest with a minimum of 3 nights.  If for some reason you end up with fewer then 4 quilters there will be $150 charge.  Call the shop for more details and to arrange your stay.

Lodge Retreat

Steve and Lori have set up a working relationship with a local lodge for retreats, Hat Creek Camps and Conference Center. The lodge is 10 minutes from the shop. It can handle up to 40 guest, including 3 meals a day. We would recommend 20 quilters per visit so that there is plenty of room to spread out. The minimum for meals is 15 quilters. This lodge is licensed like a hotel so you can’t cook your own meals, but you can bring snacks and there is a refrigerator and microwave for evening or day time snacks. Coffee and hot water is available all day. Call the shop for more information and cost. The lodge is in the country on a lake with a screened in porch and nice rocking chairs facing the lake. There is a large great room for sewing and a large dining area. The great room has electrical plugs in the floor so no major extension cords are needed. Dining area is on the first floor with some of the bedrooms and the great room is on the second floor with the rest of the bedrooms. Bedrooms have 2 to 3 beds per room with an adjoining bathroom. There are also bathrooms in the main areas of the lodge. Lodge is available 24/7, year around. Dates of the retreat will be up to the groups and scheduled through Threads Run Thru It. There will be a nonrefundable down payment required of 15% when the date is set. Classes will be available upon request during your retreat. Class fees are minimum typically taught by Threads Run Thru It. Because our classes are a small fee we ask that all supplies and fabric for that class be bought at TRTI as this supports the store.
